Wednesday the 13th I worked on the popcorn cart, opening shift. It was nice to be outside again, and even though there were a few glitches (like empty butter, and long lines) it went well. I love listening to Off Kilter... it makes me so happy!
Thursday I picked up my main gate pass so that I can let Rob into the park when he visits next week. Then I was a seater in the restaurant and went to my ICMD (I Can Make a Difference) class. It was so much fun, and a good reminder of the power Cast Members have. I went to Walmart afterwards, and it took so long to check out... like 40 minutes!
Friday I was a late seater (I had switched with Jen so she could take a friend out for a birthday dinner) and then relaxed at home... not a very interesting day... but it was my 1 month anniversary at Disney, so it was an awesome day!
Saturday I had the day off! I spent the day cleaning and preparing for Rob's visit. I made a cake for my roommates to celebrate our 1 month together, and then we went to Casey's before heading out to Cowboy's! It was such a fun night! We took Kojak's cab which meant we got to sing karaoke the entire way there. Cowboys is awesome, they have a huge dance floor and everyone line dances... but these aren't simple dances. They are quite complicated and there's a different dance for each song. I tried, but failed at learning the dances. On the way home we sang ABBA songs, it was a lot of fun!
Sunday (the 17th) I had a stocking shift with Anesh, it was a lot of fun. It took me a little longer to clean the bar, but I had a good day overall... it went by fast because I was so busy!
Monday I worked as a Greeter (1:15-10:15). It's one of my favourite shifts because it's a long shift and it has lots of guest interaction, yet you still feel like you're always being productive and serving a purpose.
Tuesday was Fay Day, the day Tropical Storm Fay was supposed to hit Disney World! It was also another Stocking shift for me. It was a fun shift, though when I was covering for the bar tender I was actually required to make fancy drinks! He'd invented this new drink, the Tropical Storm, and I had several orders of that, plus some cocktails. I survived without too much trouble, though. Cleaning the bar took forever that night! There was a last minute drink order for a chocolate smoothie at 10:10pm, and luckily I was still there (I'm supposed to be done by 10pm) but after making the drink and re-cleaning, I wasn't out until 10:40pm. Still, a good night!
Wednesday was exciting since it was my last day of work for a week! I'd traded some shifts, and taken an ADO (additional day off) so that I'd have Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday off for Rob's visit. Plus, since I had a class at DU (Disney University) on Monday, it meant I wouldn't be back to the restaurant until the following Wednesday! That day, Meaghan and I were supposed to have our SIM (Safety in Motion) class, but when we walked to it, it was canceled, so instead we went back and did some online learning (a class on the computer systems, and cash handling). I was a seater for the rest of the day, but finished early and came back and baked 2 batches of cookies, my roomies wanted some, and I figured they'd be good for carrying around the parks. Once the cookies were done I went to the throw-in for the new Canadians! It was so much fun, and I got to see Rebecca (from Mac) and Julia (who I met at the interview). We wandered around for a bit after the throw-in (which wasn't broken up, YAY!) but there was no official party, so I headed home early to get some sleep before Rob arrived!
