Visiting Canada

My working trend continued June 1st through the 4th, and then I had another adventure planned!

June 5th I flew home for a special person (Rob's) birthday!  Rob met me in Buffalo (as he always does), and we stopped at Tim Hortons (as always).  We had some time to kill so we relaxed, and walked around the Mac campus for awhile before the guests started arriving.  The first guests to arrive were Jetty and Mel, Rob's best friend and his girlfriend.  We started the night off right with dinner at Lazy Flamingo, and then drinking ensued as more people joined the party!

June 6th was a day spent with my family!  We got up fairly early, considering the previous night, and met my Dad for a walk around Cherry Hill Gate.  It was beautiful, and sort of made me excited about moving home in a little under two months.  After our walk we met my grandparents for dinner at Mandarin.  As always it was absolutely delicious!  We were able to tell the staff that it was Rob's birthday, so he got an extra special surprise... hee hee.  After dinner we went to Rob's apartment to relax, and get to bed early.  We were exhausted!

June 7th was Rob's actual Birthday! Our plan was to head to Toronto to meet his brother and his brother's girlfriend.  We decided to take the GO Bus in, since parking is always a problem, but the bus was so full we had to sit separately!  In Toronto we decided to go to the Jays game.  We chose pretty good seats, and had a fun time!  Rob bought himself a jersey, and I managed to predict a home run!

After the game we got a ride back to Hamilton, got ready, and went to Beamsville to meet the whole family!  Rob has two brothers and they were both there, each with their significant others.  We all went to dinner at Taki's in Niagara Falls, and it was delicious!  I was a little nervous about dinner with so many people (I'm from such a small family, but his family is so sweet and welcoming that there was nothing to worry about!

June 8th my Mom visited and we drove to St. Catharines to visit Brock University, one of my possible choices for an MBA program.  We saw the school, and talked to the head of the Co-op program to get an idea of the program.  Then, because Rob's Mom works there, we visited her office and she gave us a campus tour!

After the tour of Brock we drove around St. Catharines and Thorold to scope out some possible apartments, then headed to Grandma's.  We were all supposed to have dinner together, but Rob got stuck in a traffic Jam, so my Mom had to leave before he got there.  After dinner we relaxed and headed "home" to his apartment.

June 9th was my final day in Canada.  Rob and I went to talk to someone about the Mac MBA program, to give both schools an equal chance.  I must say, I wasn't as impressed with my Alma Matter!  In the afternoon we headed off to Buffalo only to find out that my flight was delayed due to thunderstorms in Baltimore.  We thought it was going to be delayed an hour maybe an hour and a half.  Unfortunately it was delayed much longer, almost 6 hours, and it didn't leave until midnight.  This meant I got home late, and didn't get as much sleep as I'd have liked before my next shift!
