A Day with Rebecca

Sunday October 26th I spent the day, well most of it, with Rebecca! In the morning Tina and Ellen came back from their cruise, so I caught up with them, and loked at the pictures. It looks like they had so much fun! I definitely want to do a cruise at some point on my contract! I also spent some time planning what I'm going to do when I go home next weekend. Afterall, I have to try to fit in visits with everyone and still do all I want to!

In the afternoon, I met up with Rebecca and we went to the Magic Kingdom! It was so much fun. We went to get fast-passes for Space Mountain and then went on Buzz Lightyear and I managed to prove that my one-time score of 999,999 wasn't a fluke by getting over 900,000 again! Rebecca hit an all-time high as well!

It still wasn't fast-pass time so we decided to go on the Tea Cups! Rebecca had never been on the Tea Cups because she's not a big fan of spinning, so we tried to counteract the spin and make sure the cup was always facing the same direction. It was definitely a fun challenge!

Then we headed back to Space Mountain, where (as seems to be usual) it broke down while we were waiting in line. Fortunately, it gave me a nice opportunity to take pictures. It was also the first time I've ever taken a photo while on the ride... well, while in the loading area!

After the ride we watched the tail end of the "Dreams Come True" Parade. We got there just in time to see Cinderella! Needless to say I was very excited! Then we went for Dole Whips because really, can you go into the Magic Kingdom and not get Dole Whips once you've had one? We wandered through Adventureland and Frontierland and onto Fantasyland where we went on the Carousel. Rebecca had learned which horses were Cinderella's and Prince Charming's on a walking tour, and so she showed me! Once I knew, we had to ride on them! Rebecca rode on Prince Charming's horse... which you can tell by all it's extra armour. I rode on Cinderella's horse which you can tell because it has a gold bow on it's tail. Naturally, the two horses are side by side.

Shortly after we headed out of the park to the boat launches where we caught a boat to Fort Wilderness. It was getting a little chilly so we both needed our sweaters. It was finally starting to feel like fall, and we joked that this was our "Canada Day" as we walked past the beach. Between the beach and the wilderness it really reminded me of home.

We wandered around and even saw pumpkins, so here's my "pumpkins are awesome" picture!

Also in our wandering we found these barrels. We thought they were a nice photo spot and nothing more until a small boy came and sat at the one beside me, put in a quarter, and the metal footrest began to vibrate. It was quite amusing!

We found some nice take-out food and ate our fried chicken dinners on a picnic table on the beach. It was sunset and the view was absolutely gorgeous. It was the perfect meal!

After dinner we went to the stables for our Haunted Carriage Ride where we met Rebecca's roommate. This was a horse drawn carriage ride through the forest with the telling of the story of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman. As the story was told we would stop by some of the famous spots (the bridge, the schoolhouse, the cemetary). It was really quite spooky!

I kept thinking that the Headless Horseman was going to come out of nowhere and start chasing us and so every time we stopped I started to get nervous. Just as the ride was almost over and we were heading back to the stables guess who appeared? Him!

He chased our carriage for quite awhile threatening to throw the pumpkin at us!

After our spooky ride we went to Chip and Dale's Campfire and Sing-A-Long. I had so much fun, Rebecca and I sang louder than most of the children and even did all the dances for songs like "She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain" and "The Hokey Pokey". Very good for children, and adults in the right mood! We were even able to get our picture taken with them!

There was also a fire where you could roast marshmallows (which they were selling at a concession stand), but we didn't get any because we were still full from dinner!

So we headed back to the beach, to sit on some beach chairs and watch Hallo-Wishes. We managed to get 3 loungers together and tried our best not to freeze as we waited for them to start. This was the first chilly night we've had in Florida since I arrived in July, but I suspect it will not be the last!

The fireworks were amazing as always. It was really neat to see them from such a different angle, and they still played the music and everything. It was especially interesting because you could see how far from the castle the fireworks are set off. It was also neat to see what it looks like from far away when they fire off the fireworks surrounding the park.

Overall, it was a fantastic day full of fun things I've never done before! I can't wait to keep experiencing all the fun things they have at all of the resorts and parks that I've never been able to do before!
