The Rest of My Weekend in Canada!

The rest of my weekend in Canada was no less amazing than Halloween! Saturday morning Rob and I got up for breakfast with his oldest brother and his girlfriend and then I met my dad and we headed to Maple View for some shopping and a haircut. I didn't blog about it but I'd had a little haircut disaster at one of the salons here in Florida so I thought I'd get my hair cut here while I had the chance!

Shopping was a lot of fun, but the only troubling thing was all of the red plaid I saw. You see, guests always ask "is this what people where in Canada?". I used to be able to laugh and say no, but I guess red plaid is back in style as proven by these pictures!
At the Gap...

That jacket is almost identical to the one we wear!
And at American Eagle...

After shopping, my Dad and I went for a walk on the Cherry Hill Gate path in Hamilton. It was absolutely beautiful. Being in Florida I'd completely missed the change in seasons so it was really nice to walk through the area and see the trees with all of their amazing colours! See for yourself! (Note: the squirrels in Canada are not like the squirrels at Disney. They will run away from people, and they eat nuts and other natural things... not Chicken McNuggets)

As we were wandering there were some photographers on the boardwalk taking pictures of the many birds. So I used this as an opportunity to take some excellent bird pictures myself!

Then we met up with my Grandparents and Rob for dinner at the Mandarin... mmmm! Now, before you think I'm completely insane for taking pictures of my food, let me explain. See, Americans don't have chicken balls. We were talking about this during Food and Wine and none of the culinary Cast Members knew what a chicken ball was. So I had to take pictures so that they could understand the awesomeness that is a chicken ball. Okay, maybe I'm a little insane.

After dinner we went back to my Grandparent's for awhile and then Rob and I went to watch Cinderella at his place. Unfortunately, I never got to see half of it because I was out cold, sleeping.

Sunday morning Rob and I got to sleep in a little bit, but I was really excited because it was Symphony Day -- the day where I was going to get to attend his concert, and meet his parents! We got ready and headed to the Beamer Conservation Area where we went for a nice stroll in another gorgeous area. It was on the top of the Niagara Escarpment and so there are some amazing views.

After our walk we went to his parent's house for lunch where I got to meet his Mom for the first time! Then he had to get ready and head to the concert early, so his Mom and I took their dog for a walk before heading to the Royal Botanical Gardens. The concert was amazing. If you're in the Hamilton/Burlington area I definitely suggest going to the Symphony Hamilton concerts! After the concert we headed back to his parent's house for a delicious dinner and I got to meet his Dad! One of the best parts of dinner had to be dessert. They were being very secretive about what was for dessert, and then his Dad came out with a DQ Ice Cream Cake! It was Enchanted themed and said "Have a Magical Day". I was so impressed and thankful that they would do this for me. Look at the cake, it's incredible!

After dinner we headed back to Hamilton and I fell asleep during Cinderella again... I swear I'll be able to watch it all again sometime!

Monday Rob had a midterm so he went to school while I met Bogdan and Val for breakfast! It was really nice to see them, and hopefully I'll see Val again since she's visiting Florida in early December! After breakfast I wandered around campus so I could see the new stadium! It's really neat. I can't wait to go to a game there!

I also had to stop by Brandon, just to see that too much damage wasn't done by the fire. As you can see, all of the damage is internal.

I met Rob after his midterm, and then we headed to Tally Ho for lunch... one of the final places I had to visit while I was in Canada. Then it was time for me to head back to Florida, so we drove to the airport. We wanted to leave tons of time for crossing the border in case there were any problems (which there weren't) so we were at the airport really early. We sat and talked and then I got back on the plane to Florida. It was kind of bitter sweet. I mean, it's exciting to go back to the world of Mickey Mouse but sad to leave all the people I love... but I'll be back in Canada soon enough!
