The Week After Canada

Tuesday November 4th I called in sick. I felt super guilty about it but I hadn't slept for most of the night because I was hot or cold and coughing. I stayed in bed all day and watched tv online all day. In the evening Heather and I switched rooms (back to my original room with the bigger closet) which made me realize I was quite right not to go into work today!

Wednesday November 5th Mariah switched shifts with me so that I could do something special for Candlelight (no details yet). She's amazing for that! I was able to get an ER (Early Release) at 4:15 (instead of 4:45) so I could get ready for the secret Candlelight thing. Then I went to Candlelight rehearsal where I couldn't really sing (because I was coughing and had no voice) so I sat in the back. I started to talk to these two ladies beside me and they just when on and on on how most boys aren't raised right and they should always do their own laundry, never pick up after them, etc. It was quite humourous. Then I came home, talked to my Dad and tried to figure out which benefits I should apply for. It's all really frustrating so I just went to sleep.

Thursday November 6th I invented the best breakfast food ever... smartie oatmeal. Instead of adding brown sugar to hot, cooked, oatmeal add a mini-package of smarties! It's delicious, and it turns the oatmeal different colours. Oh, I'm definitely a child on the inside. In the evening I started freaking out about my future and what I'm going to do, so I looked into application processes for grad schools, and MBA programs. I know they are far away, but I have to get letters of recommendation and may need to take exams (like the GMAT) so I figure I'd better decide soon!

Friday November 7th I met Patty Bowman's sister at the Food and Wine booth. Patty taught me gymnastics when I was little so that was super cool! I worked all day, came home, and tried to stay up, but fell asleep on my bed, beside my laptop, with smarties packages around me. My lovely roommate Heather tried to clean it up without waking me... she's awesome.

Saturday November 8th I worked 11:15-9:15pm, my last day at the food and wine festival! It was a lot of fun, but i think I'm ready to move back to the restaurant. After work Heather, Ashley and I went to the Cast Preview for Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime parade! It was amazing, we got to see the very first lighting of Cinderella's Castle, and see the first parade! I loved the parade, it was really incredible with horses, dancers, characters, princesses, elves, reindeer, and even Santa. Everything you could ever want!

Sunday November 9th I woke up super early and had some candy from the candy drawer which made me super hyper. I talked to rob, and made my pasta (sans chicken for Heather). My special pasta is whole wheat pasta with olive oil and Montreal chicken spice. It's delicious. Then we headed to Epcot, wandered around shopping, and got a beef empinada, and dulce de leche since it was the last day of the Food and Wine Festival. Then I walked Heather to work. Since I still had plenty of time before I started work I chatted with my Dad, exchanged costumes (F&W for restaurant costumes), and still went to work early. It was very weird being back at the restaurant. It feels like it's your first day again, but with the expectation that you don't make mistakes. I definitely kept making mistakes. They were only on small things, new things that they've changed since I arrived, but just felt off. Also, there's fewer people that are working at a time now so it seemed empty and lonely to me, nothing like the summer or September! Since I was greeting I had a really late shift. The last hour is kind of boring because you're just saying goodbye to people as they leave. Still, it wasn't too bad a day back at the restaurant!
