Since we had a lot planned and Mom was going to meet me in the park after work, I decided to let her into the park in the morning and then head to work. Since we're not supposed to be outside our area (World Showcase) with our costumes on I wore my Canadian culottes with my green t-shirt. The security guard checking our bags laughed when he saw the other half of my costume in my bag, but one lady working in front of Spaceship Earth was very confused. I'd asked her the quickest way backstage, shown her my Disney ID, and she looked at me like I was doing something very wrong and was definitely not someone who should be backstage or working for Disney. Oh well, I found my way to work!
Work was fun, and during my shift I got to go to Le Cellier's Safety Party! We've been accident free for over a year now, and they were throwing us a big party to celebrate! There was roast beef, mashed potatoes, buns, gravy, and fries with cheese (an attempt at poutine I think). It was definitely a great way to spend my break. At the end of the party, everyone won something! The prizes were varying in size from a mug to two full meals all inclusive at a restaurant! I won a half hour boat rental on the Seven Seas Lagoon from the Polynesian! I can't wait to use it!
Once the kiosk had opened Mom made a couple stops by to get some "Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup" and of course to take some photos of me at work! Here they are. This is the Montreal, Canada kiosk for the Food and Wine Festival. It's gone now, but there's an idea to bring it back and make it a permanent part of the Canada Pavillion! Instead of having the popcorn cart we could sell popcorn, soup, breadsticks, and beverages from this kiosk permanently! That would be awesome!
Here I am serving Mom her "Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup... EH!"Kristen and I working the kiosk!
Scooping soup... something I did frequently!
A nice shot of the side of the kiosk! Here's a shot of me (later in the day) as I was switching from inside the kiosk to working cash.Working cash!
Frankie and I! Frankie is a culinary student who often worked in the Canada Food and Wine Kiosk! He's amazing, super enthusiastic and a lot of fun! This was just as I was finishing my shift (he was working in Poland that day).So I got changed and Mom and I decided to sample the Chateau de Charmes Vidal Icewine before going for our birthday dinners at Storybook Princess Dining in Norway. Here's Meaghan selling me the icewine...
and Tyler handing me the icewine...
and our traditional Food and Wine picture!
Icewine in hand we headed to Norway for Princess Dining. We checked in and then waited outside until the "Royal LeNestour family of 2" was called. Then you join the line to come inside and get your picture taken with Belle. They take some pictures, print them, and bring them to your table, but Mom also took this one!
Then you are seated at your table where you meet your server, order drinks, etc. The appetizers are at the buffet, so you can go right away. For entrees both Mom and I chose the Traditional Kjottkake, which is a ground beef and pork patty served with garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and Lingonberry sauce. It was delicious!
While you're eating the various Princesses stop by your table for pictures! We met...
Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Jasmine
Ariel
and Cinderella!
All the Princesses were very nice and stayed to chat a little. It was so much fun! Then, although we were both really full, the dessert plate came.
After our delicious meal we got changed and headed to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom!
Mom, as I mentioned before, dressed up like a pumpkin! Here's an excellent picture of her with the Castle and Walt's statue.
During the party there are so many characters you can meet. I decided to take the time and have this picture taken with one of my favourite characters... Jane from Tarzaan, and I got to see Terk too!
The Magic Kingdom was decorated for the party! This was one of the silhouettes on the ground to give a festive feeling!
And just like any good Halloween night, there was Trick or Treat-ing! They provided the bags and there were certain spots in the park you could go to get candy! Mom and I left with a ton of treats!
As we were walking through Fantasyland we saw the opportunity to take a picture with Aurora and Prince Phillip. We got in line, and then the Character Attendant let us know that by the time we got to the front it would be Cinderella and Prince Charming! I was so excited!
They also had a picture spot by Cinderella's Carriage, which was absolutely gorgeous!
We moved further into Fantasyland where there was a dance party!
Donald and Pluto were there!
Here's our DJ: Sir Mix A Lot.
Then we headed into Mickey's Toontown Fair to start Alice's Treat Trail. Along the way I met another Belle! Her husband was dressed up like the Beast (but in Prince form). They were super cute!
And I was able to get my picture with the White Rabbit!
Overall it was a fantastic night. Mom and I were able to see Hallo-Wishes, the amazing fireworks show followed by the Disney Villians stage show and the Halloween Parade (complete with the Headless Horseman charging through). It really was incredible, and all of these things are only available at the Halloween Party!
It was an amazing night... I would definitely go again!
After the parade we did a little bit more Trick or Treating but then decided to head home... it had been a long day and we were both in need of sleep!
